SABIAN AND NEIL PEART ADD DIAMONDBACK CHINESE TO PARAGON SERIES

Innovative Design Adds ‘Sizzle’ to Paragon Sound
MEDUCTIC, Canada (June 18, 2007) – The 20” Paragon Diamondback Chinese is the latest collaboration between legendary Rush drummer Neil Peart and award-winning cymbal maker SABIAN. The thin, highly responsive model features a wide-flanged circumference punctuated by industrial cotter pins holding a total of four jingles that vibrate when the cymbal is struck. To increase the sound, the jingles are positioned in the shallow of the flange so they vibrate on both the bow and the edge, while a single rivet is positioned between each of the four jingle placements.

SABIAN CYMBAL SETS GET NEW CARTON DESIGN

New Packaging Increases Sales Punch at Point of Purchase
MEDUCTIC, Canada (June 14, 2007) – SABIAN announced today that they have launched all-new packaging for their ‘Sonically Matched’ cymbal sets. Not only has the award-winning company opted for a strikingly vibrant ‘red’ design that is consistent across all the cartons, it has introduced a new labeling system whereby the content-related graphics on the cartons can be updated to meet changing times or market needs. These new graphics include detailed cymbal images for the Hand Hammered, HHX, AAX, and AA, series cartons as well as player performance shots for Xs20, B8 Pro, and B8 labeling.

Dunlop in the studio w/Slash

"Just prior to leaving for the Re-Evolution Velvet Revolver World Tour, Slash took a moment to show off some of his Dunlop gear that he will be taking on the road with him"

"I used my new Dunlop Crybaby wah-wah on the LIBERTAD record. I managed to get great wah sounds + some killer effects that I wouldn’t be able to get from a normal wah-wah pedal. It’s an impressive piece of gear, if I do say so myself."
— slash

"The MXR/CAE MC-401 is the best line driver I have heard—we’ve used it both live and in the studio, in front of the pre-amp and after. Whether you need to boost a low level clean signal or overdrive the front end of an amp, with its headroom and transparency, it’s the clear sonic solution"
Adam Day—Slash’s Guitar Tech

Slash uses Dunlop Tortex 1.14mm picks, custom imprinted with his signature logo and South Park caricature.

Sonor’s Force Series Drums receive Extreme Makeover!

Since the late 90’s, Sonor has offered exceptional value and performance in the Force Series drums at prices that everyone could afford. In 2005, they introduced birch and maple shells into their 2005 and 3005 series, which fuelled the increase in the presence of Force Series drums in professional settings, and grabbed the attention of the world market. In 2007, Sonor proudly introduces the newly re-vamped Force Series line-up, not only by adding colours, sizes and configurations, but completely re-designing the series to reflect a consistent professional image of the overall Sonor brand. The new Force Series shares many of the same design elements and features with the elite products Sonor is known for producing out of their prestigious German manufacturing facility.

The most noticeable changes at first glance are the new Force Series lugs. But this is not really a new lug design, in fact, they are modeled after the professional S-Classix, Delite and SQ2 series drums made in Germany, and include the integrated “tune-safe” mechanism. The change to this lug design on the Force 1007, 2007 and 3007 series puts them into the spotlight, turning many heads and opening the doors to drummers looking for that cool way to join the professionals. Include the change to “fast” tom sizes (shorter depths), increased options for pre-configured shell packs and add-on components, upgraded hardware packages, and now we’re talking the ultimate in options for drummers at every level!

The 9-ply Birch, and newly high-gloss finished shells on the new Force 2007 series provide great projection and overall clarity in the lows and highs, while balancing out the mid-range. The 9-ply Maple shells of the new Force 3007 series consist of a center layer of Asian maple sandwiched by the inner and outer plies of Canadian Maple, offering a warm, balanced and round tone with a healthy level of low frequency punch! Add to all of this, Sonor’s unique T.A.R. tom mounting system for optimum resonance and sustain, upgraded 200 and 400 series hardware implementing design features from the elite 600 series, a newly-designed metal badge, and a selection of new trendy lacquer colours such as Midnight Fade and the new sparkle finishes. Sonor combines the optimum in playing comfort and performance with professional features at a price that won’t break the bank!

Sonor Drums are distributed exclusively in Canada by Coast Music, a division of JAM Industries, 21000 Trans-Canada Hwy, Baie D’Urfe, QC H9X 4B7. www.sonor.com Email to: sonordrums@coastmusic.com Attn: Scott Atkins, Product Manager.

Sonor creates the X-factor, by re-visiting the Classics!

The all new S-Classix Series from Sonor combines the very latest features and timeless finishes, with the classic images of Sonor in the 1960’s and 1970’s, and it is quickly becoming the centerpiece of the all-new Sonor drum series for 2007.

Replacing the S-Class Pro series, the new German-made S-Classix series features a thin Scandinavian Birch shell that delivers a compulsive sound by balancing powerful treble and mid-range pitches, with a well-balanced bottom end. The shells deliver maximum strength, and neutral tuning, thanks to Sonor’s cross-laminated, tension-free process. The lugs come from Sonor’s Delite and SQ2 series, and feature Sonor’s internal Tune-Safe feature, which prevents tension screws from loosening during hard rim-shots or loosely-tuned batter heads. The bass claws are designed to protect the hoop, and the spurs are built for quick and easy set-up and surface resting options. A newly designed T.A.R. (total acoustic resonance) system, square-head tension rods and power hoops add to the modern image, but of course, Sonor’s infamous slotted tension rods remain available as an accessory. In addition to being able to choose from four pre-configured shell packs, the customer has the choice of installing mounting hardware on the bass drum, and can select from a wide range of short-depth toms and individual components to accommodate an extensive variety of set-up options. Sonor’s newly upgraded 400 series hardware puts the icing on the cake, and is a perfect mate to the S-Classix series, but you always have the option of selecting from the complete range of Sonor hardware, including the elite 600 series.

The featured finishes on the new S-Classix series define the classic image. Four of the most popular and timeless, wood veneer finishes from Sonor are featured, and combined with six attractive retro coverings. The high-quality wood veneer finishes include Ebony, Rosewood, Walnut Roots and Grained Maple, while the retro coverings include: White Oyster, Blue Oyster, Red Pearl, Black Pearl, Grey Slate and White Pearl. The S-Classix series also offers a selection of wood, steel and brass shell snare drums in 12”, 13” and 14” models.

Overall, the new S-Classix series offers you everything you could want in a genuine Sonor drum series, while sporting a lower price tag than the S-Class Pro series it replaced! Whether it’s classic 60’s beat, monster 70’s groove, or music for modern performance, with a Sonor S-Classix set, you’re equipped for anything!
